This is the text of a play about Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick. Including the list of the cast that was at St. James s Theatre, on May 14th , 1946 many of whom have signed this copy. Dame Irene Vanbrugh (1872 1949) was an English actress In her early days as a leading lady she was particularly associated with the plays of Arthur Wing Pinero and later had parts written for her by J. M. Barrie, Bernard Shaw, Somerset Maugham, A. A. Milne and Noël Coward. Vanbrugh appeared frequently in fund raising shows for various charities. She was active over many years in the support of RADA in London, of which her brother was principal. After her death the Academy's new theatre was named The Vanbrugh Theatre in honour of her and her sister. So at this time Dame Irene was a living legend and over 70 when she acted in this play and signed this dust jacket. Size: 12.5 x 19cm Approx.
