SIGNED on the Title Page by the Author with a fantastic doodle of Pi and Richard Parker in a boat, complete with ocean creatures. The author's doodles are very scarce. No inscription. This is the 1st Edition 1st Printing of the Illustrated Life of Pi with the gorgeous drawings of Tomislav Torjanac. 1st Printing of Yann Martel's Man Booker Prize winning novel with the complete letter line extending to "A". A hardcover book with dark blue coloured cloth boards gilt tiles on the spine. Some shelf wear and crimped at the foot of spine, else a very decent, internally unmarked copy. An original binding flaw created a serious ripple in the cloth down the front joint and is also visible in the corresponding front hinge. The solidity and soundness of the binding is unaffected. The complete Dust Jacket has the original price of $45.00 intact, with some light wear on the top edge, otherwise an attractive Near Fine plus copy. This large heavy book may require extra postage. About the Authors

Yann Martel’s Life of Pi has been published in forty countries and has sold over four million copies worldwide. He currently lives in Saskatoon, Canada, where he is at work on a new novel.

Yann Martel was born in Spain in 1963 and lives in the Canadian prairie province of Saskatchewan. Life of Pi, his second novel, was published to international acclaim in more than forty countries and won the 2002 Man Booker Prize. He is currently working on a new novel.

Tomislav Torjanac was born in 1972 in Croatia, where he lives and works as a freelance illustrator. In 2006, he won the international competition to find an illustrator for this new edition of Life of Pi. Amongst other things, he's done many book covers and illustrated a few children's books, including James Joyce's The Cat and the Devil.
