A tight bright and attractive copy of the first edition bound in stiff card with illustrated endpapers. 336 pages profusely illustrated with colour and black & white photographic illustrations throughout, index, extensive bibliography, and photo credits. Inscribed and signed by Made Wijaya on the title page. Wijaya's last work explores the influence of the Javanese Majapahit empire over much of Indonesia from the late 13th to the early 16th century. Because of Wijaya's illness, the projected Volume II never eventuated, and production of this edition was apparently curtailed, for this is only the second copy I have discovered in ten years.
