No. 50. With introductions by Josette Leray and René Gallet. Poems translated by René Gallet. Small quarto. 65-128pp. Text in French save for three single-page poems of Hill's which are printed in facing English and French. Pictorial wrappers with modest wear and soil, spine a bit sunned and small pen stroke on cover, first leaf with a short foredge tear and a bit of creasing, very good. Geoffrey Hill's copy, with a 1990 one-page Autograph Letter Signed (in English) from translator René Gallet sending the journal along and discussing a couple of potential collaborations. He also writes: "You might be interested to know that you are about to enter the *Dictionnaire des Oeuvres* and the *Dict. des Auteurs* (.) which are being updated." This issue of the journal also includes an essay by Charles Lucas de Pesloüan and about 35pp. of correspondence between Péguy and Pesloüan from 1912-1914. Housed in a fine custom maroon cloth-covered clamshell case with the spine titling and Hill's signature in facsimile gilt.
