80 pages with title page detached and without outer wrappers which may or may not have existed? The title page is signed and dated as being presented on "June 29th 1884 John Goodman". The first or title page is worn and edges a bit frayed and grubby, contents good with final page having the end of the index, this is also dusty and handled. A good copy of a scarce privately printed collection of poems some written about 10 years before the date of printing and others quite recent. *The poems have been dated in the mail and the places of composition also noted with printed details of where and when. Several of the later poems have been done whilst the poet was an inmate of the Northern Ohio Insane Asylum with the last date being 1875. Another states "Written upon a picture in Sargent's Window on the main street, Cleveland on May 30th 1860 at 256 Superior Street". A long saga poem on Boadicea of 24 pages, again written from the Lunatic Asylum in 1874. NO information on this poor man, no other poetry books, inclusions in anthologies or any evidence of his life and death.
