Printed boards, 8vo, 25 cm 91 pp, facs, DeVries summarizes: "Eckel discusses the history and collations of fourteen 'good copies' of Pickwick Papers in parts, reaffirms the eleven 'points' that he established in his bibliography of 1913 . for a 'prime' collation of the novel, itemizes the requirements for the original plates, examines part by part and in great detail the advertisements in the Bruton copy of Pickwick Papers, and compares some of its points with those of other well-known collations. By way of conclusion, to his original eleven points Eckel adds four textual points, another concerning the imprint, a number concerning the illustrations, and nine concerning the advertisements. This work contains eleven plates and a foreword by A. Edward Newton." Copy No. 205. Signed by John C. Eckel and A. Edward Newton. Small red stamp on copyright page: 'Printed in USA'.
