Cloth green cover with gilt lettering, very good condition. No DJ. From the collection of E. J. Aston (a NC travel writer who published frequently with Greeley) and signed on title page by E. J. Aston. Includes a letter to Aston from Horace Greeley, dated August 19, 1869. Aston glued the letter into the front papers of the book. The letter has three folds and is signed by Horace Greeley. Binding is straight and tight. Shadows of plates on facing pages. Title page is loose and has some tanning. Many pages have normal tanning commensurate with age. Slight discoloration to front cover. Tear to cover on upper rear corner. Shelf wear to spine at top and bottom.
