First edition, very good with no dust jacket. Yellow cloth is a little soiled generally, and the spine is darkened. Repaired small split along the rear gutter. Front hinge at half title is separated, but still tight. Owner name and date (1935) on the half title page, where the author has inscribed the book to him in pencil: "To Mr. Pearce - Pioneer/"A pioneer is one who goes before - to/open up the way." Webster/Mr. Pearce brought anthropology bodily to Texas, and Has maintained/it here in the face of grave barriers -/for which I am sincerely grateful-/M. J. Atkinson". Short obit of the author pasted in at the bottom of the half title. Includes map endpapers and decorations by Ralph J. Pereide, and a Bibliography; 345 pages.
