Large 8vo, xvi + pp216 complete with 68 b/w plates including frontis (No.35 fold-out) and colour fold-out map to rear. Hardcover no dust jacket. Handsomely rebound in half green morocco leather over green cloth boards with 5 raised bands and gilt titles to spine in very good+ condition with a little rubbing to top tip of front board and two small marks to back board. Inside, except for a little occasional foxing, all pages in very good clean and bright condition. Inserted in book is a personal letter from Henry J. Pearson to a 'Dr Steward' thanking him for his kind sympathies after the death of the author's father signed by Pearson a British ornithologist, naturalist, businessman and explorer of the Far North of Europe. This book came about after his three expeditions, in 1899, 1901, and 1903, to Russian Lapland. An excellent copy.
