Octavo (22cm); illustrated dust jacket; red cloth boards stamped in black and gilt; no topstain, with book club blindstamp at bottom of back board; 592pp. Price-clipped jacket shows a few tears along edges, with chipping at head of spine and a few stray waterspots and light pen marks to rear panel. Light bumping to boards at corners and spine ends. Binding sound and pages unmarked. Bookplate signed by Grass without inscription laid in at front.
