First edition, first impression. xii, 352pp, (including 8 pages of publisher's ads). Red cloth-covered boards; blind embossed motif on front, gilt titles on spine; top text block edge sprayed red. 12mo. Sun-faded spine, lightly rubbed and bumped spine ends; corners lightly rubbed, partial sun-fading on front board. Top text block edge dusty, remaining edges lightly tanned and foxed; the red has slightly bleed from the top into the edges of the front and rear endpapers and prelims. Endpapers tanned and starting to fox. Front pastedown has a gift inscription signed by the author, V W Germains dated 30/XII/ 26. Subsequent owner's name on front free endpaper. Internally pages are lightly tanned at the margins otherwise a neat, clean, bright and tight volume. Contains 8 chapters with notes and appendices, appendix 1 being a facsimile of the originally letter from General Von Ludendorff to the author. Seller Inventory # 018267
