New York: Oxford University Press, 1953. Octavo. Original cloth; price-clipped dust jacket with some staining and browning to its spine panel and a small portion of the front panel. A very good copy. First edition, first printing. Inscribed and signed: "With regards to Beulah Huish Sadlier at the Writer’s Conference. Salt Lake City, Utah. Richard Eberhart. July 1, 1954." Additionally, a one-page TLS to Sadlier is laid in, along with a mimeographed poem entitled "Soul," folded into quarters and written in three stanzas.
