1969 & 1970. First editions. Hardback in dustwrapper. Each 24 × 16cm, xiv + 674pp & xviii + 486pp. Not signed as such but loosely inserted in volume one is a small compliments slip from author, and a handwritten Christmas card to Dick, from Ros and Terry (Rosalyn Higgins, and her husband, the conservative politician, Terence Higgins). Dick was Professor Richard N Swift, an expert in International Law who worked with the UN. The first two volumes in a planned series of three which covers the documents and commentary on United Nations peacekeeping operations, covering all UN Forces and Military Observer Groups. Volume one covers the Middle East (the Palestine Truce Supervision Organization, the Emergency Force in Egypt, and the observer groups in Yemen and Lebanon). Volume two covers Asia (the observer groups in India and Pakistan, and in Kashmir, the observers in Indonesia, the security force in West Irian, and the military enforcement action in Korea.) Condition: The books are good reading copies. The dustwrappers are both quite worn, with small amount of chipping, wear and discoloration to the edges. The books are in good solid condition, some dusting to the page edges but essentially in strong readable condition. Seller Inventory # 015947
