First Edition (first printing). This copy inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to an un-named recipient, and dated the year after publication ("Yours sincerely, David Gascoyne 15.xi.51"). Slim 8vo. 62pp. Yellow cloth, blocked in green and lettered in gold at the spine. Errata slip tipped between pp.12-13, as called for. Some light partial toning to the free endpapers, half-title, and to one unprinted concluding leaf. A virtually fine copy in very good non-price-clipped dust wrapper designed by Keith Vaughan, with a little dust soiling to the rear panel, and the tiniest hint of wear to the spine ends and to several corner tips. Thirty poems. Benford A7.
