1st printing of the first Canadian hardcover edition SIGNED by the author on the title page with a blue fountain pen. Full blue cloth with white end papers and silver titles. The book is tight. The heel and crown of the spine are sharp. The corners of the boards are sharp, though the bottom corner of the back board is rubbed. A previous owner has written his name and 1986 on the front free end paper, and there is the ghost of an erasure at the top corner of the page. As commonly found with this edition, the first 140 pages (or the first signature) are lightly tanned in comparison to the rest of the pages. That's half the book and this is mostly noticeable on the exposed page edges. The foil jacket is well-preserved. It is bright, crisp and not priced, as issued. The only lifting of the surface laminate often found with this book is along the spine and the folds, but this is unobtrusive. There is a short, diagonal crease in the back panel, running from the fold to the bottom edge. Barely discernible tanning to the extreme top edges of the white flaps. Synopsis

The Wandering Fire is the second volume in Guy Gavriel Kay's trilogy The Fionavar Tapestry. The five travellers are once again called back to the First of All Worlds to play out their given roles. The Wandering Fire is set six months after the events in The Summer Tree. Back in Toronto, Jennifer is expecting the god Rakoth Maugrim's child and she and Paul cross back to Fionavar after being persued by Galadan, the Wolf Lord. Jennifer gives birth to a young boy called Darien, the boy who will have to "take the Longest Road" of any child ever born. Kim has a long awaited dream and the path forward becomes clearer. After travelling to England, Kim enlists the help of Arthur Pendragon. Dave and the Dalrei are finding life on the plains difficult in the midst of a terrible winter, wolves and urgach's attack and they are hard pressed to hold them back. Shalhassan and Sharra, of Cathal, join forces with Brennin to fight against Rakoth and his minions. Upon discovering the source of the unnatural winter, a party sets forth to the cursed aisle of Cedar Sedat to break the Cauldron of Khath Meigol to fight the source of this power and to free the land of its evil.
