This 440 pp. indexed book has a photo section in the center. It is THE preeminent history of the richest families in New York, that molded the city and their businesses into the financial leader that New York City is recognized to be. Genealogical charts for these different families are the endpapers of the book in the front & rear. The author of 30 books, Birmingham was known for his histories of wealthy American families & their ethnicity. He boldly inscribed & SIGNED this copy on the Half-Title page. There is a 1" square slightly darkened area on the lower spine, where I suppose a sticker must have been. With light corner bumping, there are no other markings and the book would grade VERY GOOD +. The author died in 2015, at age 86, and this title is SCARCE when SIGNED by him.
