About the Author
Ben Behunin was born at a rather early age, and has lived most of his life at least 4000 feet above sea leave. the oldest of eight children, Ben cut his imaginative teeth as a doodler, a daydreamer, a fortbuilder, a storyteller, and beginning at age fourteen-as a mudslinger.
Since 1996, Ben has made his living as a potter and a writer. Now the author of eight books, he still manages to work his way through 8-10 tons of clay each year while trying to keep up with his two teenaged children, Isaac and Eve. He also does his best to make sure his beautiful wife of twenty blissful, rambunctious and creative years, Lynnette, remains happy enough to stick with him for at least another twenty years. (She pretty much knows what she's in for, but he may still have a few surprises up his sleeve.)
In a recent interview with his children, they said of their dad. "He's basically a freak of nature. yeah, like, a crazy man! Mom says it's just 'cause he's an exoshentric, or something like that. Nuh uh, I think its an extraterrestial. (Laughter) He's probably one of those, too, but I think it's an ex-sentric. That means weird, right? Whatever. I don't even know. Oh, and he likes to drag us all over the world with him to collect old bottle caps. but he's kinda fun, too. Yeah, I guess. But he's a weirdo."
Ben's only response to this was a silent smile.
The Behunins live in Salt Lake City, Utah, just feet away from the pottery/writing studio, where Ben is often found entertaining guests with what his children call his "pathetic attempts at yodeling." When he's not making pottery, Writing, collecting bottle caps, or tormenting his children and their friends with bad jokes, Ben leads expeditions in search of the elusive Rocky Mountain Sasquatch. To book an expeditions, you can contact him directly. And look for his forthcoming book, How To Seduce a Sasquatch, written in conjunction with National Geographic photographer, Harry Lederhosen.
