Hbk, oblong 4to, quarter brown cloth over beveled pictorial vellum-covered boards, INSCRIBED by Remington on the front endpaper (which has become detached) along with a quick sketch of a horse's head, illustr 61 full-page b+w plates, cloth rubbed at the spine ends, woodgrain rear board, gilt top foredge, hinges cracked, internally the text remains solid, and images and text are bright, clean, and free of foxing or other markings, a good candidate for stabilization.
