Leather spine and corners with gilt borders, gilt lettering spine, maroon silk boards, pattern coated EPs. The book has some rubbing to spine and corners, a few light marks on covers, some foxing mainly restricted to margins of pages opposite folding maps and plates (most pages have no foxing), no previous owner names or writing on any pages (other than author's signed inscription), very solid binding, complete with all pages, plates, and maps. The book measures 257mm tall x 188mm, and has 543 pages, 1 b/w photogravure b/w photo of Mt Simvu, 22 plates & folding maps (including 2 in pocket at end, and one large map of the Himalaya at end of text), 27 in-text illustrations, geographical index, general index.
