The preface by Zapf and afterword by Paul Standard are in English. Laid in is a black-and-white photograph of Zapf by the noted New York artist and photographer A. Burton Carnes. A cheerful Zapf is holding the lever of a handpress, drink glass in hand. One of 1000 copies of this title printed by Heinrich Egenolf; signed by Zapf on the colophon page. With the small and elegant calligraphic book label of John and Jean Michael. A beautiful production overall, and a near fine copy; one leaf shows some creases, possibly a paper production defect; slipcase lightly rubbed. Seller Inventory # 4920
