Fine book; fine unclipped dust jacket; about fine slipcase, with a hint of dampstaining to top right corner of rear cover, and price sticker to bottom edge. Overall, an exquisite copy. In this atmospheric masterpiece, a woman named Kathy, a carer for donors, reflects on her time at Hailsham boarding school, and her nuanced relationships with schoolmates Ruth and Tommy. As Kathy's memories flow into each other, she and the reader come closer to understanding her and her schoolmates' dark and devastating purpose. The book is routinely listed as one of the best books of the 21st century, and helped Ishiguro earn the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017.
