A very scarce and signed copy of this work collection of passages each pertaining to Native American people. First edition. Signed by the author to the title page. In the publisher's original cloth binding, this work has been compiled and edited by John Hampden. Aimed at young readers this work compiles a series of passages from both fictional and non-fictional source which aims to present a varied view of Native people. It is best summarised by Hampden in the preface in which he states that intention of the work is to 'show the Indian in peace as well as in war ,to give some glimpse of his native life as well as some consecutive pictures of his long struggle with the paleface'. This work reflects many of the attitudes held towards indigenous people in America in the 1930s. In a full cloth binding. Externally smart, with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the author's signature to the title page. Very Good Indeed.
