From day to day the original Spoerri Landscape, made to be exploited as the cover of a table upon which real meals are eaten, disappears under an accumulation of the details of living, just as the successive lithographic variations are transformed by the next day`s meal. And the immobility of the snare-picture, a permanently fixed slive of life, gives way to the tension of continuing transformation backwards and forwards through overlapping layers of space and time" "(E.
