Book Description The Dial Press, New York, 1968. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Photographic (illustrator). first Edition. XX, 316 pages, last 3 blank, foreword by author, acknowledgements, bibliography and index. Orange coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography. Red coloured boards with black writing on the spine and small black printers' cartouche to the lower spine edge. Bumping and rubbing to the head and to the heel of the spine and there is fading to the spine commensurate with dust wrapper loss. Bumping to the book corners and shelfwear, the lower book edges. Browning to the paper edges. Throughout the book there has been underlining of the text in pencil. Photographic dustwrapper, with red background and black and white writing of the front panel and spine. Small printers' cartouche to the lower spine edge. Rubbing and chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners. Numerous small mixed to the top and bottom dustwrapper edge and the top 0.25 " of the spine is missing. Almost complete fading of the spine and to the top 0.5 "of the rear dustwrapper panel has occurred. A radical form of theatre was developed in the late 1960s it defined its purpose by the purposes of its participants. Variously called Painter's theatre or Kinetic Environment this book the author recorded conversations with its major creators -- such people as John Cage, Ken Dewey, Robert Whitman plus others. . this is the first USA edition.
