Among the important papers are: Acts of Incorporation of the Illinois Central Railroad Company by the State of Illinois; Letters, Recipts from the treasurer of the State of Illinois for $200,000, Deeds, Financial plan, submitted by the President, and report of the president to the Directors, Mortgage, Illinois Central Railroad., its position and prospects, On the value of public lands of Illinois, a folding copy of the Construction bonds to be issued, and many other documents. Also exhibiting the internal improvements, distances between towns, villages & post offices; the outlines of prairies, woodlands, marshes & the lands donated to the state by the General Govrnment for the purposes of internal improvement.
