After more than thirty impressions of the previous edition this entirely new dictionary has been compiled by a team of four eminent linguists headed by Denis Girard, former Cultural Attach? at the French Embassy in London, and including Oliver Van Oss, former Head of the Modern Language Department at Eton. For the first time French-Canadian usage has been incorporated under the direction of Gaston Dulong, professor of French Philology at the Universit? Laval in Quebec, who has included local and regional words and phrases.
