About the Author:
Author, librarian, and mom, Jean Armour Polly (Syracuse, N) is an internationally recognized expert on the Internet from a family's point of view. She wrote the original "Surfing the Internet" back in 1992, which coined the phrase, according to Lexis-Nexis. She was one of the first two women elect3d to the Internet Society Board of Trustees and is now a Trustee Emerita. Under her Net-mom brand, she is a private consultant, researcher, and speaker. Her client list includes America Online, The Bertelsmann Foundation, Disney Online, and TCI. Net. Other current clients include GuardiaNet and Landmark Community Interests, as well as MCI Foundation. Jean was recently elected to the board of the Recreational Software Advisory Council on the Internet (RSACi), a group promoting rating of Internet services by their authors.
