Review:

“Students are likely to find that the organization of the text provides a more intuitive map of the steps, stages, and processes involved in reading, writing, and research...Students and instructors will appreciate both the updated example topics and the introduction of more familiar Canadian terms and perspectives.”

--Sue Laver, McGill University

“The design layout that includes a great deal of variety in material; the use of many images as examples to explain the importance of the critical thinking process; the expansive, clear coverage of the material on the entire writing process; and the explanations, examples, and exercises on all the different aspects of learning to write are the reasons why I keep returning to this textbook.”¿

--Andrea Westcott, Capilano University

“Overall, it is an impressive reference guide—very comprehensive.”

--Karen McCrindle, University of Toronto, Scarborough

“I have always thought that the exercises in this text are excellent. They are sophisticated and varied enough to provide a challenge, and they successfully reinforce the concept they are intended; at the same time, they undermine stereotypes, encourage multicultural awareness, and provide interesting historical information.”

“I have found this material [tips for multilingual writers and the mini ESL Handbook] very useful, as it covers the most common errors that second-language learners have.”

--Anonymous
