Book Description Pictorial Wraps. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. Scarce title. SIGNED in full by the author in black ink on ffep. From inner front flap: "A one-act adaption of Bar and Ger was first produced by Brian Astbury at the Space Theatre, Cape Town, South Africa, in 1975. Yvonne Bryceland played Ger and Wilson Dunster played Bar. The production was directed by Walter Donohue, who used two giant cushions and a small carpet as props. The characters sat or reclined on the cushions, sometimes touching, sometimes back to back. Certain sections of the poem were transposed, others were interacted. The actors sat in a circle of light, which faded on the final lines of the text". From inner rear flap: "Geraldine Aron was born in Galway, Eire in 1941, and educated at convent schools. Later she moved to England and after a multitude of jobs, decided on a career in advertising and became the creative director of an international agency. Now resident in Cape Town with her husband and their twin daughters, she runs a freelance copy bureau and writes short stories ranging from romance to science fiction. Bar and Ger - say Ger with a J - was written after the death of her young brother Barry in a road accident". Cover design by Bernie Lurie. Bound in original bright yellow unprinted wraps, in publisher's unclipped yellow pictorial dustjacket. Inner front flap contains a b&w photograph of Bryceland & Dunster in Bar and Ger, & the inner rear flap contains a b&w photograph of the author.
