Excerpt from The Motive Power of the Human System, With the Duodynamic Symptoms and Treatment of Chronic Diseases
In describing the cases, which I have introduced, to illustrate the new symptoms, and the action of the natural remedies for them, I have been as brief as possible, purposely avoiding reports of the state of the pulse, and other unimportant symptoms not necessarily belonging to the disease Many of these are new cases not before published in. My former medical work, which accompanied the remedies, and give a fair view of their con tinned progress in the cure of this class of diseases.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is the culmination of the authorâs multi-year investigation into the common diseases of the spine, such as tubercular disease of the vertebrae, and the misconceptions of the common treatment for these ailments at the time this book was written. The text introduces new symptoms of tubercular disease and discusses how to distinguish them from other spinal conditions. The author also introduces new natural remedies for treating these diseases, which he claims are more effective and less harmful than the usual treatments employed at the time of his writing, such as bloodletting and debilitating measures. The book includes detailed case studies to illustrate how the authorâs new symptoms and treatments work in practice. This book was written in the mid-19th century, and some of the medical knowledge presented is outdated. However, its novel symptoms and treatments for tubercular diseases of the spine are still widely considered valuable contributions to the understanding of these diseases.
