From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-K-- Rabbits Bob and Pandora Lapinandro happily manage a rundown inn until they receive word that special guests are coming. Suddenly, shabby is out and shiny is in. As the list of tasks grows, Bob asks the guests to help, and all gladly pitch in according to their abilities. As excitement mounts, the inn and grounds are made shipshape in time for the arrival of 12 newborn bunnies. Because most of the text's rhyming is internal to the lines, the structure is not rigid and is only occasionally awkward. However, the slangy "Pandora was snowed with the glowing results . . . " seems out of place. The story gives some details, but it is the pictures that show the ever-growing list and the animals bustling about their chores. An amusing touch is the assembled animals, each imagining the mystery guests to be of its own species. Soft watercolors are perked up with bright touches in flowers and food, giving the look of a quaint country naturalist's diary. Although some of the illustrations are large enough for a group, the abundance of small details and length of text make this busy book best for individual sharing. --Jane Saliers, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library

From Publishers Weekly:
Bunnies Pandora and Bob Lapinandro are the proud proprietors of an old and homey inn. When Pandora learns that some special visitors are on their way, she insists that the "dusty musty corners" and "viney twiney yard" be tended to at once. The list of chores grows quickly (an ever-lengthening scroll threatens to engulf the premises), and Bob must recruit the help of the inn's other guests. The chickens, squirrels, pigs, mice and cats all pitch in to buff, puff, polish, paint, till, weed and clean--wondering all the while just who might be arriving. Four weeks later--and just in time--the place is shipshape, as new parents Pandora and Bob present a mob of tiny rabbits. Brewster's ( Bear and Mrs. Duck ; Don't Touch My Room ) airy watercolors are packed with delicate, amusing details; the inn's furnishings are worthy of Laura Ashley. The lively guests display a beguiling assortment of costumes, personalities and mannerisms in this delightful sojourn. Ages 4-8.
