About the Author:

Sheri Spaine Long (PhD, UCLA) is a Professor of Spanish in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she teaches Spanish language, literature, and culture courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a scholar-teacher, she bridges the study of languages and literatures. She also teaches interdisciplinary courses in English such as "Foreign Literatures in Translation" and "Madrid-as-Text." Her fields of interest are broad and range from contemporary Spanish prose to Spanish language and culture, global literature, foreign language pedagogy and policy, and international education. She has co-authored the following textbooks with Cengage recently--NEXOS: INTRODUCTORY SPANISH, PUEBLOS: INTERMEDIATE SPANISH IN CULTURAL CONTEXTS, and ALIANZAS: INTERMEDIATE SPANISH.
