From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 2-- All of the animals want to eat the last potato on the plate in this slight picture book. Goat, who is both clever and greedy, manages to trick the others out of their share, but when he finally claims his prize it has already been eaten by a family of mice. Readers will recognize the manipulations of Goat, and will feel that justice has been served in the end. However, the book has few other satisfactions. The watercolor illustrations are lively, but do not embellish or enlarge on the tale. The story makes for a quick, action-packed read, and is as quickly forgotten. --Carolyn Polese, Gateway Community School, Arcata, CA
