PreSchool-Grade 1-- Bright, cheerful cartoons of 17 animals are the main attraction of this book. The text tells of an elephant who hopes to celebrate his birthday with a "birthday jamboree." He wants the toucan to invite everyone, but cannot find him. Elephant tells tiger to look for him but tiger cannot find him, so he tells warthog to look for him, but warthog cannot find him, and so on through the rest of the animals until the toucan is found and elephant has his birthday party. With the repetition of the animals' names on almost every page, the book is obviously meant to be read aloud.
