From Booklist:
Ages 3^-5. This appealing picture book from Hayes and Craig's This Is the Bear series shows the boy and the bear visiting a restaurant for dessert, while their trusty dog watches them through the window. When the dog trips a rotund lady as she enters the restaurant, he sets off a series of calamities. In the commotion, a little girl who fancies the bear snatches him up and runs down the street, but the dog comes to his rescue. The illustrations, ink drawings with delicate watercolor washes, make the most of the visual humor and narrative charm. The simple, large-type text makes this an accessible book for beginning readers, though the read-to-me crowd will also find it an entertaining choice. Carolyn Phelan
