Review:
With his usual intelligence and emotional honesty, former football star Tim Green (now a novelist and commentator on National Public Radio) tackles the subject of his search for his biological mother in A Man and His Mother. His account of their first meeting is deeply moving; a subsequent encounter with his natural father is described with respect for the older man's feelings. Most affecting of all is the loving portrait of Green's adoptive mother and father ("the only parents I ever had"), which reminds us that being a parent involves much more than genes.
About the Author:
Tim Green is a former defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons, and an honors graduate of Syracuse University Law School. He is the author of two previous suspense novels,Ruffians and Titans. In addition to his writing career, he is an NFL color analyst for Fox Broadcasting, and a weekly commentator on life in the NFL for National Public Radio.
