Hasday goes into great detail about the European history that shaped her subject's early life and explores her experience of learning as an adult that her family converted to Catholicism from Judaism, and that her grandparents had been killed by Nazis. This section includes photographs of concentration-camp prisoners. There are also many black-and-white photos of Albright as a child, of her family, and of the Secretary of State at work. Good for assignments year-round, and especially valuable for women's history month.
