DR. HOWARD O. JONES was the first African-American Associate Evangelist of the Billy Graham Team (1958-1963). An accomplished musician, Dr. Jones gave up a promising career to study and serve as a pastor, evangelist, and missionary. Following fourteen years of pastoring he spent six years with his family ministering in Liberia, West Africa. A speaker on the Hour of Freedom broadcast for many years, he was recently honored with the Milestone Award for 53 years of Christian Broadcasting by the National Religious Broadcasters, on whose board of directors he served for over twenty years, and he was the first African-American radio minister to be inducted into the NRB Hall of Fame. He has served on the board of Managers of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, as Chapel Speaker for the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and as visiting Professor of Evangelism at Crown College, where the Dr. Howard O. Jones Chair of Evangelism was established. Dr. Jones is the author of a number of books. He and his wife, Wanda, raised five children during their 57 years of marriage. Dr. Jones makes his home in Oberlin, OH.
