About the Author:
Kathleen Gregory Klein is the author of The Woman Detective: Gender and Genre (University of Illinois Press, 1988; rev. ed., 1995; Tokyo: 1995), which won the Toth Award for excellence in feminism and popular culture. She is also the editor of the Edgar and Agatha Award finalist Great Women Mystery Writers: Classic to Contemporary (Greenwood, 1995) and Women Times Three: Writers, Detectives, Readers (Popular Press, 1995). She has served on the Advisory Boards of Twentieth Century Crime and Mystery Fiction, The Oxford Companion to Crime and Mystery Writing, and Clues: A Journal of Detection.
