As an investigative reporter for The Day of New London, Conn., Mr. Soderberg wrote series of articles on drug abuse problems in southeastern Connecticut, the loss of wetlands, problems of the aged, morale among Navy families, problems in treating mental illness at Norwich, Connecticut Hospital, racial bias, New London's redevelopment program, the City - its Firefighters, Thames River pollution, Coast Guard Academy expansion and the Connecticut Circuit Court System. Later years, Mr. Soderberg entered the field of public relations. He served as public relations and news bureau director at Thomas College of Waterville, and editor and writer at the Department of Public Affairs, University of Maine in Orono. ," Completed two terms as president of the Maine Association of Sports Information Directors, winning two national awards - sports media guides. Graduate of Cranston, R.I., High School. Held a bachelor's degree- University of Rhode Island- master's degree in business from Thomas College. During the Korean War, Mr. Soderberg was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. Served as commander, adjutant - finance officer of Washburn-Brann-Ward Post 195, American Legion of China, a member of the post's rifle squad which performed during Memorial Days , military funerals..
