About the Author:
Charles E. (Chuck) Kanter, often called "Mr. Catamaran" began his love affair with sailing in the 1970's. His experience ranges from over 100,000 miles of sailing spread and more than one thousand different vessels he surveyed. His credits include the inauguration of the Around Long Island Race as Commodore of the Long Island Multihull Association, Chairman of the first Multihull Bermuda race, as a volunteer sailing coach at the US Naval Academy, fifteen years as a full-time liveaboard, Sailing School partner, charter operator, delivery skipper and beginning in the 1980's, a Marine Surveyor, earning his AMS designation in 1998. His many magazine articles, seminars, lectures, public appearances and research papers, have established his reputation. Other books by Charles are Cruising Catamaran Communique, (acclaimed as the most information about multihulls ever assembled in one volume) Cruising in Catamarans, Cruising on More THan One Hull, Co-author of: The Sailor's Multihull Guide. Corinne C. Kanter, affectionately known as the "Waterway Hostess with the Mostess for her years of entertaining fellow cruisers aboard her catamaran, La Forza. She is the author of two cookbooks, first, the Galley K.I.S.S. Cookbook and her latest book, The Cruising K.I.S.S. Cookbook, which is a monumental five books in one. It is in its sixth printing and far and away the most popular cruising cookbook ever published. Corinne is well known for the threedecades of her bi-monthly cooking column, Corinne's Culinary Corner in MULTIHULLS Magazine. Her theme is: Delicious, Nutritious and Economical. She publishes articles in many of the popular sailing magazines and often is a panelist with various sailing organizations including SSCA, where she is a Rear Commodore. Her seminars are always exciting to participants. She believes in an interactive approach to learning and always involves people in her discussions, so ring a pad and pencil. Corinne, along with Chuck is a bonafide World traveler and has by various ships, cris-crossed the Atlantic many times, sailed the southern Pacific, rounded Cape Horn, sailed from Dubai around the Horn of Africa, up the Red Sea, through the Mediterranean. Chuck and Corinne delve through their 30+years of sailing experience especially the 15 years as a full time liveaboard. The various learning experiences, the wonderful people they met, and the joys of the lifestyle outside the proverbial box. Cruising Conversations With a Daring Duo is just that.
