The Cold War - Softcover
This book is a collection of letters written by a "draftee" in the early years of the Korean War. He was lucky and was sent to Germany instead of into the battle going on in the Orient. However, he was not out of harms way as the tension between Russia and the U.S. was at a fever pitch. His letters, however, reveal very little of the stress of being near the border of communist East Germany. Not wanting to alarm his family in California he wrote mainly of his day to day activities.
