A graduate of Northwestern University with a Master’s degree from Cal State University Northridge, Lisa is a literacy coach in Los Angeles. She is an advocate for peace and women’s rights with interests in yoga, Buddhism and philosophy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, and piano as well as spending time with her partner, Matthew, and her dog, Sierra.
David Danioth dedicated his first book, The Tree, to "All mothers—the givers and unconditional nurturers of life." So presented with the opportunity to illustrate A Mother’s Promise, how could he refuse? The poetry of Lisa Humphrey’'s words touched David’s soul and flowed through his brush onto the pages of this remarkable book, evoking the sacred nature within us all.
The Art Institute of Seattle is proud to include David on their faculty where he guides emerging artists toward their goals. When he’s not at school or in his own studio, David can most likely be spotted on a soccer field or the seat of a bicycle on the road somewhere.
