About the Author:

Poet and educator Sandy Lyne taught poetry writing to over 50,000 young people and several thousand teachers nationwide through his own Inner Writing Program and through the Partners in Education workshops of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He published two collections of poems by young people, Ten-Second Rainshowers and Soft Hay Will Catch You, and was interviewed twice on National Public Radio discussing these collections. His own poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including The American Poetry Review, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Ploughshares, Poetry East, and Louisiana Literature. Sandy passed away in February 2007.
