Photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders is known for his strikingly intimate portraits of world leaders and major cultural figures. He won a Grammy Award for his 1998 American Masters documentary Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart, and his 2004 project Thinking XXX became a best-selling book, a traveling exhibition, and an HBO feature documentary. Other films include The Black List, The Latino List, and The Out List series, as well as About Face: Supermodels Then and Now. Greenfield-Sanders portraits are in many museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
