About the Author:

Originally from the Annapolis Valley Nova Scotia, Jay Malone has been touring across Canada and the US for the past 18 years with his award winning standup comedy. A five time performer at the Halifax Comedy Festival and four time performer at the Just 4 Laughs festival in Montreal, Jay won the prestigious Homegrown national competition in 2004. In 2005 he starred in his own hour long Comedy NOW! special for CTV and was nominated as Best Male Comic at the Canadian comedy awards. After relocating to Los Angeles he became a regular at the Hollywood Improv, Ice House and Comedy & Magic club and was awarded his own half hour Showtime Special in 2011.  In addition to standup comedy Jay is also an accomplished actor having starred in dozens of national and international commercial campaigns as well as having guest starred in several television shows including Monk, NCIS LA, Dollhouse & Boston Legal. In 2012 Jay was cast as the lead in a Conan O'Brien produced sitcom for TBS called "Roland & Me" and booked a co-starring role in City TV's "Package Deal" later that year. The show aired for two seasons and garnered Jay a nomination as Best Supporting Actor in a comedy series at the Canadian Screen awards in 2013. As a writer Jay has written for the MTV music awards, the Nascar awards as well as the long running CTV sketch series Comedy Inc. In 2009 Jay won an international animation competition sponsored by FOX/Aniboom for his "Santa Intervention" and was awarded a development deal.  Over the past year he has added author to his credits having completed and published his own children's picture book "Looking for Happiness" which recently won a Book Award from Fresh Lifestyle Magazine online and is now working on his third title.
