Contrary to those who argue that demographics are political destiny, social trends are transforming identity categories of race, gender, and youth - all of which provide rich opportunities for Republicans to create a new majority. To accomplish this, Republicans will need imagination and political acumen if they are to win over those constituencies that have become the base of the Democratic Party: minorities, young women, and millennials. Behind the reality of current voting patterns, which without doubt presents a gloomy future for the Republican Party, social trends and a deeper analysis of political attitudes reveal there is much room for Republican optimism.

In this critical, data-driven book, Future Right, Donald Critchlow explores strategies for the right that will help them succeed where Democrats are floundering: how to speak to the new population of a rising and successful minority class and how to reform the salacious alliance between the government and the one percent.

It is time for Republicans to adapt to societal trends for the creation of a new, transformative politics that will not only help them win the future elections, but revive a system long overrun by outmoded, top-heavy politics.

Review:

"Well-researched and detailed...Critchlow’s study―in which Donald Trump’s name goes conspicuously unmentioned―may be just what Republican loyalists need to realize that a different approach is needed." ―Publisher's Weekly

"The numbers don't lie. The Republican Party at a crossroads of crisis and opportunity. Will they rest on their recent successes, only to be wiped out in a generation by a demographic tidal wave? Or will they build an enduring majority by engaging new voters and expanding their coalition? In this compelling new book, Critchlow convincingly lays out the blueprint for continued Republican success. A must-read for anyone interested in the survival of the Republican Party in the 21st century." ―Chris DeRose, New York Times bestselling author of The Presidents' War, Congressman Lincoln, and Founding Rivals

"Basing his arguments on a mountain of data, distinguished political historian Donald Critichlow shows how the Republican Party can overcome demographic challenges to their coalition. Those seeking to understand where our party system is headed and why must read this book. Critchlow’s call to action provides Republicans with reasons to be optimistic about their electoral prospects―if they can follow his advice and make smart strategic decisions." --Daniel DiSalvo, Associate Professor of Political Science, City University of New York and Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow

"Can the Republicans become a majority party? Donald Critchlow, history professor, prolific author and seasoned observer of the political science, says yes, and in Future Right he lays out a blueprint for the party and the nation." ―Michael Barone, Senior political analyst, Washington Examiner; resident fellow, American Enterprise Institute; co-author, The Almanac of American Politics

"Critchlow concludes that conditions exist that provide a “rich opportunity” – not the same thing as a certainty – for conservatives and Republicans to forge a new majority party. All ye conservatives who enter these pages will find reason to reclaim abandoned hope." ―Irwin Stelzer, Director of Economic Policy Studies, Hudson Institute
