Es kann uns nicht die Aufgabe zufallen noch steht es uns zu, die Ziele und Gesichtspunkte, welche Ambros bei der Abfassung dieses Bandes im'auge hatte und von denen er sich leiten liess, darzulegen. Wer sich darüber unterrichten will, findet hinreichende Andeutungen in den Vor reden der vorhergehenden Bände. Wohl aber ist hier der Ort, einiges über den Stand des Manuscriptes und uber die Wieder gabe desselben zu sagen.
