EMQs and MCQs for Surgical Finals is a unique study and revision resource for final examination practice covering all surgical sub-specialties. Each section of the book begins with a brief outline of the surgical topic followed by a range of clinically based questions to test both knowledge and understanding. The final chapter contains a range of clinical cases that guide you through a real-life scenario on core knowledge tested earlier in the book.
This is an essential resource for surgical finals preparation and will assist in providing a rapid refresher, testing understanding, indentifying areas of weaknesses and consolidating knowledge. All in all, a real must-have for any student sitting final surgical examinations.

"This title is another of those that is designed to allow a student to practice questions to assess their knowledge for finals examinations and also to experience the potential style of questions that they can expect to encounter.
What makes this title different to many others that I have encountered is that the questions are laid out in specific areas. Each chapter starts with an introduction to the topic that it covers with a few facts, after this there are a reasonable number of questions on that topic.
The disadvantage of this title is that the questions are laid out only by area, the title doesn't have any papers within it that give a mixture of topics of questions, though it is entirely possible for the student to flick through the title and do a range this is more problematic when it comes to checking the answers after.
In summary this title does have useful questions and explanations within it but if you are looking for a purely question title then there are others out there that cover a wider number of questions. That being said, I would recommend this title to you to get out of the library, see if it suites your style of revision and then possibly purchase it." (Medical Student, Lancaster University)
