About the Author:

After years of working with horses, Bonny Henderson began her undergraduate education in Geneseo, NY. Dr. Henderson graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell in 1994 and is certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. In 2000, Dr. Henderson and her husband opened the Henderson Equine Clinic. Today their respected clinic services the equine needs in Western New York with quality, compassionate care. In her spare time Dr. Henderson is an avid foxhunter.

Review:

This title can be used in a general horse health course at the undergraduate level and also in a veterinary technoloy large animal diseases course. I think that the book is a good idea. While there are many horse health or first aid books available for the layperson, no book is available that is designed to be used as a textbook. With the continuing interest in horses and the increasing numbers of students in equine programs, I feel this textbook has good potential.

This project is very worthwhile, not just for use as a teaching text for the right class, but also as a reference for horse owner and businesses. It appears to be thorough, in- depth, and well developed.
